Upcoming shows

July 29th, 2010

Bring your buddies out to these upcoming shows. Summer will be over before you know it and then it will be winter. Get your moshing in tank tops and basketball or jean shorts in while you can!

Last minute changes

July 1st, 2010

The Cro-Mags shows are fast approaching. Hope you’re getting pumped! Tickets are available at the Triple Rock, Extreme Noise, Eclipse Records, Red Savoy’s in Uptown, and as always, online here. Pick them up in advance to avoid waiting in line.

Take note that there has been a last minute line up change for both shows. Killing Time cancelled all of their scheduled shows a few weeks back, except for Minneapolis. Unfortunately they then had to cut Minneapolis as well. We scrambled to find a replacement and finally confirmed MERAUDER with just a over a week until the shows. We feel these shows are just as strong as ever and hope you do as well.

If you have any questions about these shows or are traveling to this area and have any questions, please contact us. We’re happy to help!

Officially Summer

June 26th, 2010

It’s been a good summer for shows so far, but it’s only the beginning!

Next weekend is going to be an awesome weekend for shows in this town. Our buddies in Sweet Cobra (Gagovski!) are playing the Triple Rock with Russian Circles and Nomia on Friday.  Then local favorites, D4 and Banner Pilot are playing on Sunday, the 4th of July, with The Dopamines, The Slow Death, and Box Thieves… also at the Triple Rock. Party (in the USA)! Heck yeah.

Are you interested in checking out more shows?  There are a bunch of dudes that book shows in this area – so it’s a good idea to check out what Empirical Booking, Red Handed Productions, NELC or TCSP has going on. We do our best to post all shows on the calendar but to make sure you don’t miss out on anything – check those pages… and hit up those shows!

If you like to read about or discuss the World Cup, Extreme Noise purchases, moshing, and sometimes even bacon, then head over to the message board. Get yourself an account (using at least part of your real name) and join in the conversations. You don’t want to be a lurker forever!

P.S. Every Sunday from 2-4pm, tune in to local station 770 Radio K to listen to Out of Step, the best punk/hardcore radio show around.

Terror. Website “under construction”.

May 19th, 2010

Lots of things have been changing over here. Bear with us on this longer update … it’s been a while.

Most importantly, our extremely helpful friend, John Regan, has been helping get this site to operate smoothly and working in one piece. We can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done and mostly for putting up with the ever changing crap we put on him. Thanks, John. We owe you some more Whole Foods action!

With that being said, we are working to get more content up on the site to make it as resourceful and awesome as it needs to be. Help us out. I know you know you can get it done.

Oh, and a fun story since we’re on this subject… a very nice girl from Peru recently contacted us to tell us that she was coming to MN for two months and was looking for the best record stores, good shows, and other great things to do. This website has served it’s purpose at least to one person that we know of. That’s exactly what it is here for, and so much more, of course. But it is really awesome that she found it and will be able to use it as a resource for the next two months while she hangs out with us in MN. So if you’re interested in hanging out with her, showing her around the cities, or bringing her along to shows, comment here and maybe she’ll get in touch with you!

Also, pick up your Cro-Mags tickets before out-of-towners snatch them up and leave you sitting outside. You have advance warning that these shows will sell out, so get them before it’s too late.

Lastly, Terror is coming through to play the Triple Rock Social Club with Grave Maker, Naysayer, Foundation, and local band, High Hopes. More information can be found on the message board or Facebook.

More reviews!

April 19th, 2010

Brady Mason sent over a show review of the Crime In Stereo show at the Triple Rock last weekend. Read it.

We are always looking for people to get involved with this site and help keep things updated, fresh, and awesome. If you love the core as much as we do, then you’re just the person to help get things done! Contact us with contributions and ideas. Thank you in advance for ruling!

Mid-April 2010

April 15th, 2010

Tonight at The Beat is a benefit show for the National MS Society featuring local bands LUNGS, FRONTIER, A LESSER KNOWN SAINT, MOURNER, and NEVERENDER.

You often are told, “Do not miss this show!” But this is truly a show that you should try your absolute best to support, not only with your presence, but with your dollars as well. Empty out your change jars, bring loads of $1’s, and even your credit cards to be fully prepared to support this awesome cause!

Baked goods (vegan selection available) will be for sale, which is awesome, because not only will they be super tasty, but you will feel good knowing that every penny will be going to the National MS Society!

Also, be sure to read the newest show review contributed compliments of Nick Sanchez of Relentless!

End of March Update

March 25th, 2010

Tommy Rehbein was kind enough to recently spend some time with local band, Mourner, and pump out a pretty entertaining interview for us. Check it out!

Also for your scoping pleasure is a record review of Iron Rain’s new EP.
Be on the lookout for a ’special event’ to be announced sometime. Maybe in the next month. Who knows? Just check back often if you care to know.

As always, we’d love for more people to get involved by sending over interviews, reviews, photos, links, videos, anything! You provide it and we’ll find a place for it!

New message board & more!

March 16th, 2010

After years of people wanting and waiting to get a new TCHC message board, we finally created one! Check it out and start posting away. If you have suggestions on how to make it better, please let us know. We will do our best to bring the people what they want!

Brady Mason, of Neverender, wrote up a review of the Blacklisted show from a few weeks back. Read it, enjoy it. Feel free to send us your reviews of shows or records.

As always, we are in need of help with updating the show calendar, getting reviews, interviews, editorials, and pretty much everything that you see or rather don’t see. Please get involved. It’s a team effort. If you are interested in helping out with the site, contact us.

Mid-February Update

February 16th, 2010

Check out the Weekend Nachos show review written by Kevin Herwig with photos by Nicole K. It rules … a lot. So go read, enjoy, and find out who Kevin thinks is all “hopped up on goof balls!”

The Matt Henderson interview saga is a must read as well, and we have parts one, two and three with more on the way!

This weekend is Adam’s birthday show with quite a diverse line-up. I hope someone brings cupcakes! Happy Birthday, Adam!
