Twin Cities Hardcore – News

Lots of sweet bands have played recently in the Twin Cities.  Hopefully you enjoyed yourself to a few of them and appreciated being able to hang outside in between sets in the gorgeous warm weather.  The bitter cold and abundance of snow will be upon us soon, which makes it rough for bands to trek up to these parts.  There won’t be shows as often, so if you want to see people you like, you’ll have to actually put effort into seeing one another outside of a mosh pit.  Good luck with that one!

I have already started thinking about how I am going to spend my hibernation months.  I plan on putting a lot more into this website with the features section which includes editorials, interviews, and the local spotlight.  We’re trying really hard to make this a useful and resourceful website – it’s more than just a message board (though we like when people post on there too).  Perhaps I’ll even get a flyer archive up if I somehow become extra motivated.  We’ll just see how that goes.

For now though, I put updated a bunch of pages to include some pieces that were featured in the local zine, Start Again, Summer 2010 issue.  There are a few editorials to read through from great men such as Jim Grimes, Nick Sanchez, Brady Mason, and Travis Kaney.  Also, Nate Dimit wrote up a nice piece on Minneapolis record stores which you can read in the Local Spotlight section.  A few show and record reviews have been added, and the Resources section has been gone through to provide some more thorough information on restaurants and webzines.  The calendar should be up to date, but if you notice that something is missing or needs to be update it, send an e-mail to twincitieshardcore[@]gmail.com and we’ll get you set up with permission to update the Google Calendar.

As always, if you see anything that needs updating, or want something on the site that you don’t see, or you want to help out with updating and such – just throw us an e-mail with your thoughts.  We’re doing our best to make this a great resource for the community, but it will only be as good as you want to make it – so please help out in any way that you can!
